After graduating her Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering with first class honours at the University of Auckland, Sarah worked for 5 years as a Structural and Fire Engineer based in Auckland. Sarah joined Crossfire in August 2021.
Sarah’s previous work experience includes fire safety design in accordance with Acceptable Solutions for residential apartment buildings, commercial and community buildings. Sarah also carried out the Structural Engineering design for the projects, which gave her valuable experience and understanding around the coordination between the two disciplines.
Sarah’s keen interest in Fire Engineering led her to pursue further education and she is currently completing her Masters in Engineering Studies endorsed in Fire part time through University of Canterbury.
Sarah prides herself in aiding throughout the entire project life, from concept through to construction monitoring, to ensure the fire safety requirements are met while achieving the client’s vision for the project. While working for Crossfire Sarah is expanding her experience with performance-based design, utilising modelling software to provide efficient fire safety designs for complex problems.
Out of the office, she enjoys spending time at the beach and doing water sports in summer. During the winter, she enjoys spending time at the mountain skiing following a season spent working at a Ski Resort in Canada
